GS-380S is a high-purity hydrophobic fumed silica obtained through the chemical treatment of hydrophilic fumed silica with a specific surface area of 380 m²/g using hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS) as the silylating agent. This surface modification replaces silanol groups with trimethylsilyl groups, resulting in a strongly hydrophobic material with markedly improved compatibility in organic systems.
It is particularly suitable for use as a free-flow and anti-caking agent in powdered materials, as an efficient defoamer and antifoam agent in liquid formulations, and as a rheological additive for reinforcing medium- to high-polarity systems such as coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers. Its hydrophobic nature ensures low moisture absorption and enhanced dispersion stability in non-aqueous environments.

Properties:
1. Used as an excellent flow aid in powder coatings, its high specific surface area ensures the powder maintains good flowability even during prolonged storage. Deep hydrophobic treatment provides superior electrostatic charging properties, effectively enhancing powder coating application efficiency.
2. When used as a dispersing agent in dry-mixed colorants and blended powder materials with significant density variations, it ensures consistent dispersion of materials with differing densities.
3. In adhesives and sealants, it not only provides reinforcement but also enhances corrosion resistance and temperature tolerance.
4. Compared to other dispersants in defoamers, it accelerates defoaming while prolonging foam suppression duration.
5. As a dispersant in heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings and inks, it simultaneously improves soil flash resistance and water resistance.
