High Performance Hydrophobic Fumed Silica for Silicone Rubber, Adhesives & Sealants

GESEESIL MT Series is a range of methyltrichlorosilane (MTCS) modified hydrophobic fumed silica developed to provide excellent thickening, reinforcement, anti-settling and moisture resistance. The products are widely used in RTV silicone, HTV silicone, liquid silicone rubber (LSR), adhesives, sealants and specialty coatings.

What is MTCS Modified Hydrophobic Fumed Silica?

MTCS Modified Hydrophobic Fumed Silica is produced by treating high-purity fumed silica with methyltrichlorosilane (MTCS). The surface modification replaces hydrophilic silanol groups with methyl groups, significantly improving hydrophobicity, moisture resistance and dispersion in non-polar systems.

Compared with untreated fumed silica, MTCS modified grades exhibit lower moisture absorption, superior rheology control and enhanced compatibility with silicone elastomers and organic systems.
